Shrine

Shrine is a multi-faceted artist who has been creating across disciplines for over 30 years. The richness of his practice comes from lovingly embracing the unknown, working with items discarded by humans all over the world, and the complete dedication to his immersive process. Shrine’s work can be seen in countless countries on nearly all 7 continents. These larger than life installations in public spaces are often made up of smaller sculptures, paintings, and found objects that come together, transforming themselves into something even greater than the sum of their parts. His meditative linear motifs can be found on walls in major cities and landmarks around the globe; these murals often become a permanent fixture, lovingly preserved by the very community itself. While he thrives on working outdoors, creating work that is both transitory and long-lasting, Shrine is no stranger to the gallery world. He has shown at many galleries, has had solo project spaces at Art Basel Miami, the Craft Contemporary Museum Los Angeles and La Luz De Jesus Gallery in Los Angeles, as well as the Yerba Buena Art Center in San Francisco. His installations have been included in top art and music festivals such as Coachella Art and Music Festival, Lightning in a Bottle, BOOM Festival, Symbiosis, and was selected to build The Temple at the incomparable experience of Burning Man.
